Bernarda Antony: Indonesian Textile Heritage

Bernarda Antony: Indonesian Textile Heritage

Bernarda's collection is Inspired by the beautiful songket and batik textiles from Indonesia. Songket is traditionally considered as an exquisite, luxurious and prestigious fabric with distinctive flower patterns while batik is a fabric full of symbolic patterns with designs that have historically been reserved for royalties.

Bernarda’s years of developing her designs were spent at LaSalle College International (Jakarta) and Sugino Fashion College (Tokyo) where she graduated as a Fashion Designer. Established in Vancouver in 2017, she is still connected to her roots through her designs. She is currently producing small-runs of contemporary designs using traditional prints from Indonesia, and accepting made-to-order from previous designs.
